Marie Deininger | Museum of Craft & Design

"The Museum of Craft and Design has had the pleasure of working with Tammie Knight on multiple occasions, including large-group workshops, highly attended drop-in programs, and MakeArt Kits -- self-contained art projects distributed throughout San Francisco. Tammie is a skilled artist and insightful teacher who kindles a passion for the art of miniatures, no matter the setting. She is a true joy to work with and learn from."

  • What is an FAQ section?
An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about your business like "Where do you ship to?", "What are your opening hours?", or "How can I book a service?".
  • Why do FAQs matter?
FAQs are a great way to help site visitors find quick answers to common questions about your business and create a better navigation experience.
  • Where can I add my FAQs?
FAQs can be added to any page on your site or to your Wix mobile app, giving access to members on the go.
  • How far in advance do we need to book for private workshops?
We typically book 2-6 months in advance.
  • Can you secure a venue if we don't have one yet?
Depending on availability, we may be able to accommodate your group at the Letterform Archive Modern Museum located at 2325 3rd Street in San Francisco. If you are interested in this option, be sure to inquire at least 2 - 4 months ahead.
  • Is any prior experience required to do well at these workshops?
No experience is required! The workshops are beginner-friendly, and we will guide you through the process of assembling and decorating your miniature scene.
  • What materials and tools are provided?
Workshop kits include all the necessary materials and components, including paint, glue, and any decorative elements. Additional basic tools such as small brushes, and craft knives will also be available for use during the workshop.
  • How long do these workshops last?
The typical workshop runs for 3 to 5 hours, depending on the complexity of the kits and how detailed participants want to be.
  • Can we take our miniature scenes home?
Absolutely! You will take your completed or in-progress miniature scenes home, along with any unused materials from your kit.
  • What should we wear?
Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy. Aprons are made available for corporate events.
  • How do I sign up to attend a workshop?
Public workshops are usually promoted by the venue or host. You sign up online through Eventbrite if we have an independent workshop scheduled, or by contacting us directly to inquire about hosting your own private workshop.
  • Can I purchase a kit without attending a workshop?
YES! Some of the individual kits in my line will be available for purchase in early 2025.
  • Do you do children's birthday parties?
The minimum recommended age for a hosted Pop-up Micro Gallery Workshop™ is 16+. However, you are welcome and encouraged to bring children to the public workshops we do for various organizations. Please check the gallery of past events to see if there are any locations in your area.
  • Can I just sign up to attend an existing workshop?
No group, no problem. Our workshops can be found at the following locations throughout the year. Click the links to see if we have anything scheduled at the location nearest you. Letterform Archive Bedford Gallery San Francisco Public Library Museum of Craft & Design
